Obituary of Cordelia Alba Flores

Please share a memory of Cordelia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cordelia Alba Flores was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 7, 1942 to Angel O. Alba and Elvira Cruz Alba. She went by many names: Cordelia, Mama, Sis, Tia Coya, but she loved being called Momo. Mama’s passion was raising and taking care of many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many children along the way, which many are now adults and still call her Momo. Her love for children never seemed to end. Her door was never closed to anyone and she never met a stranger. Mama was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Geronimo “Jerry” M. Flores Jr.; daughters, Genine Flores, Illiyana Gibson (Jeramey), and Crystal Flores (Vidal “Chacho”); grandchildren, Chantel Hagens (Taylor), Chanler Hagens, Alissa Reyna, and Neamiah Rivera; great-grandchildren, Camden and Belle Mosley; 1 sister, 5 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Rene Moreno, Gilbert Harros, Ramon Harros, Taylor Mosley, Jeramey Gibson, and Vidal “Chacho” Rivera. Honorary Pallbearers are Neamiah Rivera, Camden Mosley, Marcos Harros and Josiah Harros. The family would like to thank Satellite Dialysis, Well Med Palliative Care team and New Century Hospice for the wonderful, loving care of our Mother. A gratitude of thanks to Meals on Wheels and Season for Caring for giving us one last memory as a family. The Flores Family will begin receiving guests at 10:15 a.m. with Celebration of Life Services beginning at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street, Austin, Texas 78745. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to make a monetary donation to the Salvation Army Angel Tree, or bring an unwrapped child’s toy to be donated to Toys for Tots, in honor of her memory.
