Our beloved Francisco “Kiko” Mata Almeida, Jr., age 74, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Kiko is originally from Laredo, Texas, where he was an EMS and owned the Laredo Ambulance Services for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco L. Almeida and Asencion Mata Almeida; his brother, Juan Jose Almeida; and brother-in-law, Robert M. Flores. Francisco is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Esperanza Segura Almeida; his beloved children, Manuel Almeida, Francisco Almeida II and wife, Annabel, Severo “Sev” Almeida and his wife, Rosie, Leticia Almeida, Mari Hernandez and her husband, Michael, Nicholasa Almeida, Concepcion Valverde and her husband, Jacobo, Adriana Almeida, Norma Almeida, and Yvette Almeida; his sisters, Guadalupe E. Flores and Patricia Almeida; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
