Our beloved Billy John, age 61, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Mr. Sanchez worked for the City of Austin for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Herminio Gomez, and sister, Susie Garcia. Mr. Sanchez proudly served our country as member of the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Alice; his mother, Irene Gomez; his children, John Anthony Sanchez, Richard Thomas Sanchez, Ernestina Marie Sanchez, and Lauryn Elizabeth (Enrique Carreno) Sanchez; grandchildren, Richard Thomas Sanchez, Jr., Ariyah Jade Sanchez, Noah Isaac Sanchez, Zachary Adam Sanchez and Nevaeh Isabelle Carreno; sister, Ernestine (Johnny) Villela, brother, Herminio (Angie) Gomez, Jr., brother-in-law, Jose Luis Garcia, and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Military Honors held at 6:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary, Sunday, February 26, 2017, Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Services will conclude following Visitation and Rosary.
