Our beloved George Govea, Sr., age 51, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 8, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Lucio Govea, Sr. and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Govea and Josie Govea. George is survived by his loving mother, Esperanza R. Govea; his wife of 26 years, Amanda Aleman-Govea; his children, Eva Govea, Fernando Aleman and his wife, Felicia, and George Govea, Jr.; his siblings, Lucio Govea, Jr., Geneva Govea, Richard Govea, Jeanette Govea, Frank Govea, Esther Govea, Dennis Govea and his wife, Connie, Frances Govea and her husband, William, and Joanna Govea; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be Eric Govea, Lucio Govea, Dennis Govea, Devin Quintana, Robert Ramos, Aaron Aleman, Erasmo Herrera, Jr., Richard Govea, Jr. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – South Side, 6204 S. First St, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, Sta. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery St., Austin, Texas. Services for Mr. Govea will conclude following Mass. A fund has been established to help offset the family expenses.
