Obituary of Esmeralda Tenorio Lopez

Our Beloved Esmeralda “Melly” Tenorio Lopez, age 57, of Kyle, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pantaleon and Anita Tenorio.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Irving Lopez. They met when Melly flashed her wonderful smile at him and they have spent 31 years together. Melly loved Irving and devoted her life to him even though their first date was going for 39¢ hamburgers but not cheeseburgers because he didn’t want to pay the extra 10¢. They loved dancing and riding motorcycles together.

She is also survived by her treasured daughter, Danica Lopez; brothers, Joe Tenorio Sr. and Pantaleon Tenorio Jr.; sister-in-law, Rebecca Tenorio; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Melly was the strongest person we knew, no matter what came her way she always looked for the positive in things, even with setbacks. She taught us all to be strong, especially her daughter, Danica. She knew that when she left, she didn’t have to worry about her. She encouraged her to do her best in everything she did and was always there to support her. She pushed her to do her best and made her promise to continue in no matter what happens. She was a State Employee with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services for 31 years where she was known as the event planner for all parties and holidays. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Mission Funeral Home – South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. This will conclude services.
