Obituary of Ofelia Torres Resendez

Our beloved Ofelia Torres Resendez, age 79, resident of Austin, was called home by our Heavenly Father, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Ygnacio Resendez; her parents, Pablo and Maria Torres; her children, Isabel Resendez and Mark Resendez; her siblings, Rachel Zamarripa and Robert Torres; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Torres.

Ofelia is survived by her loving son, Matthew Resendez,  and his wife, Angela; her siblings, Gloria Johnson and her husband, Edward, Edward Torres and his wife, Mary, Paul Torres, Patrick Torres, and his wife, Rita; her brother-in-law, Fidencio Zamarripa; eight grandchildren, Kanisha Jones, Tony Jones, Marcus Resendez, Garvey Resendez, Tia Resenedez, Reese Resendez, Rilee Resendez, and Raven Resendez; four great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home – South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
