Obituary of Anthony Quinn Ortiz, Jr.

Our beloved Anthony Quinn Ortiz, Jr., age 24, resident of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 31, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecilio B. and Mary Rodriguez, and grandmother, Janie Quiroz Ortiz.

Anthony is survived by his loving parents, Anthony Q. Ortiz, Sr. and Laura Rodriguez Ortiz; his adoring siblings, Samantha Ortiz, Mary Ortiz, and little Jon-Eric Ortiz; his precious nephew, Joe Angel Rendon, Jr.; his treasured grandfather, Guadalupe “Shorty” Garcia Ortiz; many aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, other family, and friends.

The Ortiz family extends their sincerest gratitude to Seton Shivers Clinic Infusion Center, Dr. David Wright, Dr. Boone Goodgame, Brackenridge Old 9th Floor Cancer Center, and all the doctors and nurses who cared for Anthony at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center of Houston. The family also extends their special thanks to Anthony’s musical family in Crook’s country band and Mariachi Corbetas.

In Anthony's honor and with respect to his wishes, please wear your Sunday best.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at noon; Mission Funeral Home will open its doors to the public at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Anthony will be committed back to the earth following his funeral service at Assumption Cemetery.
