Obituary of Alfred Calvo

On Tuesday, August 8, 2017 our father and husband, Alfred “Banky” Calvo, age 70, departed this earth into the loving hands of our Lord Jesus Christ, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was an Austin resident and proudly served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corp.  Banky was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Severina Calvo; his brothers, Ralph Calvo, Sr., Edward Calvo, Manuel Calvo, Jr., Alex Calvo, and Infant Manuel Calvo, Jr.,and his sister, Bernice Alvarez.

Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Emily Calvo; his daughters, Christine (Robert) Calvo and Carolyn Calvo; grandson, Anthony Castillo; his brother, Gilbert Calvo, and sisters, Dora Rodriguez, Mary Louis Trevino, and Cindy Escalante, numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and other loving family and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to AMED Community Hospice; Laurel, Ana, and Chaplain John for their loving care of our father.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m, Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2017, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery, 6300 W. Wm. Cannon Dr., Austin, Texas.
