Obituary of Elizabeth Verastegui

Our beloved Elizabeth Verastegui, age 83, resident of Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 18, 2018.  She passed away peacefully.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio Verastegui; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Verastegui; sisters, Lilly Hernandez and Goya Pena; her sister-in-law, Carmen Lopez, and brother-in-law, Jose Martinez.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, Rebecca Torres and her husband, Tony, Robert Verastegui, Estella Verastegui, Andres Verastegui, Arturo Serra, Sr. Yolanda Sanchez and her husband, Ernest, and Gloria Verastegui; her brother, Frank Lopez and sister, Dora Martinez; eight grandchildren, Alfredo Torres and his wife, Karen, Travis Verastegui, Rene Serra, Naomi Bethune and her husband, Alex, Arturo Serra, Jr. Arthur Verastegui and his wife, Crystal, Stephanie Sanchez and Stacy Mata, and Mariella Sanchez and Wyatt Kelly; nine great-grandchildren, Richard Serra and his wife, Bonnie, Sarah Riojas, Samuel Bethune, Cynthia Verastegui, Robert Verastegui, Diego Verastegui, Jose Verastegui, Elroy Torres and Malik Torres, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Que DIOS guie a cada  uno de mis hijos.

Que DIOS sigue bendiciendo a cada uno.

Que mi madre, la Virgen de Guadalupe me los protégé y los sigue amando como siempre.

Y que EL ESPIRITU SANTO guie a todos mis hijos paara que, un dia, peden llegar con migo al cielo con DIOS.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Verastegui, Andres Verastegui, Alfredo Torres, Richard Serra, Artie Serra, Jr., Rena Serra, Joseph Martinez, and Robert Verastegui.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Artie Serra, Sr. and Travis Verastegui.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2018, Sta. Julia Catholic Church, 3010 Lyons Rd., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas.
