Carmen R. Gonzales, beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother went peacefully to her eternal rest to be with our heavenly father on July 10, 2001 at the age of 82 .The Gonzales Family would like to extend their gratitude to the Circle of Life, Texas Mail House, and Dr. Michael Gutierrez for their warmth and kind care of our mother, Carmen. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years Domingo Gonzales, Sr., Son, Domingo Gonzales, Jr., and Daughter, Susie G. Morris. She is survived by her sons: Louis Gonzales & wife Rosa, Antonio Gonzales and wife Mary Alice, Ricardo Gonzales, and Joe Angel Gonzales; all of Austin, Daughters, Dolores Hernandez and husband Andres, Virginia Vargas all of Arizona, Dora Arellano & husband Deacon Joe, Carmen Flores and Adolph Lozano, Oralia Sandoval and husband Enrique Morales, Erica Gonzales all of Austin, Janie Flores and husband Lorenzo of Cedar Creek, Tx., Sons-in-Laws, Henry Morris and Juan Flores, Jr. both of Austin; Brothers, Jesse Rodriguez and Alejandro Rodriguez both of California, and Pablo Rodriguez of Lubbock,; Sisters, Maria Rodriguez and Victoria Lugo both of California. She is also survived by 49 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, & step grandchildren. Recitation of rosary will be Friday July 13, 2001 at 7:30pm at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday July 14, 2001 at 10:00am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Raymond Hernandez, Henry Morris, Jr., Albert Arellano, Daniel Trejo, Rudy Gonzales, Larry Flores, Antonio Gonzales, Jr., Luis Gonzales, Jr. and Ricardo Gonzales, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Gonzales, Jr., Robert Alba, Jr., Braulio Hernandez, Jaime Rodriguez, Jr., Alex Mendez, Juan Aguilar, James Arron Morris and Jimmy Morris Sr.
