Obituary of Gregorio Martinez

Our beloved Gregorio "Goyo" Martinez was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family.  

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Tomasa Mendieta Martinez who passed away in 2011; his son, Martin Martinez; his parents, Espetacion Juarez Martinez and Lupe Martinez; his sisters, Santo Alanzo, Lorenza Alvarez, Refugia Rodriguez, and Maria Trujillo; his granddaughter, Lisa Martinez, and his son-in-law, Roy Torres.

Goyo is survived by his beloved children, Janie Torres; Gregorio "George" Martinez, Jr. and his wife, Estella, and Frances Ruiz and her husband, Teodoro; his brothers, Espatacion Martinez, Jr., Guadalupe Martinez, and Dorotheo Martinez; 26 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 10:30, Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  A Scripture Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
