Obituary of Rosa Linda Prince

Please share a memory of Rosa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved mother and grandmother was called home by our heavenly father on Friday, January 19, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Pasquala Gutierrez and brother-in-law Joe Rivera.

She is survived by her children Oscar Prince (Claudine), Danny Prince (Sandra), Janet Montemayor (Mario), Crissy Cerrillo (Luis), and Ashley Gonzales; grandchildren Yvette, Leanna, Alyssa, Oscar IV, Rene, JC, Victoria, Matthew, Danielle, Olivia, Marissa, Jasmine, Anthony, and Maudie; great-grandchildren Gabriel, Maddie, Jionni, Marlena, Marcello, and Anthony; siblings Pauline Ceciliano, Janie Rivera, Silvero Gutierrez, Angel Gutierrez, and David Gutierrez (Emma); many loving nieces and nephews

Linda was born in Plainview, TX and was raised in Ulysses Kansas until moving to Austin, Texas in 1969. Austin soon became home where she raised her 5 children, spending many summers at the beach and frequently visiting Sandy’s Hamburger’s for ice cream and lots of park visits. She began her career in the finance business working for Travis Loans and in the 90’s took a job with Austin American Statesmen’s retiring after 18 years of service. She dedicated her life and time caring and giving to others, she was the caregiver for her father for many years and helped raise her grandchildren. She was known by “Mom” to many and took in anyone that needed help. She enjoyed spending time with her family the most and getting together for family barbeques and potlucks. Everyone loved her potato salad and especially looked forward to her Thanksgiving stuffing. Her favorite things to do was to play solitaire, Fill-In word puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She was most proud of her family, she lived a full beautiful life that was full of love. She will be greatly missed but will forever live in our hearts!

“I thank my God EVERYTIME I think of you” PHILIPPIANS 1:3
