Obituary of David Judson Bowlin

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved David J. Bowlin was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the age of 51.  David proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Viola Bowlin.

David is survived by his children, Calvin Judson Bowlin II, Catlin Christelle Bowlin, and David Lee Colton Bowlin; many other loving family members and friends.

He was born in Leesville, Louisiana, August 24, 1966 to Calvin "Babe" Judson and Viola Christelle Bowlin.  His father was a highly decorated WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army and his mother a well-known South Louisina artist.  His father retired from Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and moved his family to Morgan City, Louisiana and then to New Iberia, Louisiana.  New Iberia is where David was raised, attending and graduating from Catholic High School, playing Panther football.  He grew up enjoying fishing, hydrosliding, hunting, and his friends.  After graduation, he attended USL - Lafayette.  He left college to join the military and follow in his father's footsteps. During his time in the military, David was stationed in Hanau, Germany, Augusta, Georgia, Okinawa, Japan, and Ft. Polk Louisiana.  David was proud of his children and only weeks prior to his passing was quite excited to learn that he would be a grandfather.  He loved his animals and his quiet country life.
