Obituary of Gloria Cortez Paredes

Our beloved Gloria Ann Cortez Paredes, age 56, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Cortez and Gumezinda Quiroz Villegas Cortez; sister-in-law, Margie Villegas; and brother-in-law Joe Hernandez.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gilbert Paredes; her beloved children, Rosemary Williams, Theresa Paredes, and Cristal Vara; her precious grandchildren, Ezekiel Williams, Zachariah Williams, Jelani Campos, Julian Quintanilla, and Jayden Quintanilla; her siblings, Annie Ramos and husband Trini of Victoria, Texas, Danny Villegas and wife Lupe of Austin, Texas, Bobby Villegas of Racine, Wisconsin, John Thomas Villegas of Austin, Texas, Mary Ann Hernandez of Austin, Texas, and Janie Canales of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 6:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 East Ninth St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
