Obituary of Jose Colunga Ybarra

Our beloved Jose Colunga Ybarra, age 83, resident of Cedar Park, was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Modesta Reyes Ybarra; his son, Arthur Ybarra; his precious grandson, Richard Ybarra; his parents, Simon Ybarra and Maria Colunga Ybarra; his brother, Jesse Ybarra; and his sisters, Trinidad Ybarra and Magdelena Torres.

Jose is survived by his loving children, Armando Ybarra and wife Denise, Teresa Ybarra-Romero and husband Andrew, and Anita Ybarra Carrizales and husband Steve; daughter-in-law Kim Ybarra; 15 precious grandchildren and 12 treasured great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lillie Ybarra, and brother-in-law Rudy Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Honored pallberearers will be Jerry Cohen, Steve Carrizales, Steven Carrizales II, Michael Carrizales, John Ybarra, Diego Ybarra, Brandon Ybarra, and Zachary Ybarra; Honorary pallbearers will be David Ybarra, Armando Ybarra, Andrew Romero, Andrew Romero II, Jackson Cohen, and Gustavo Perez.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 South 1st Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, Monday, May 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr,, Austin, Texas. Interment to follow at Cedar Creek Mexican Cemetery (also known as Camposando de Cedar Creek), in Cedar Creek, Texas.
