Obituary of Devonte Deshon Reylin Ortiz

Our beloved Devonte Deshon Reylin Ortiz, age 19, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesdy, July 4, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Maria Emilia Ortiz and his aunt Lissette Ortiz.

Devonte is survived by his loving mother, Kristina Lissette Ortiz, father, Tavon Lafayette Clark, and stepfather, James Earl Boones; little sister, Janiya Boones; sisters, Nikaela M. Clark, and Trinity Z. Reese; brothers, Tavion L. Clark, Jaden L. Chatmon, and Joshua L. Chatmon; his grandparents, Pedro and Belinda Ortiz and Paula Watrous, and Lowanda Clark Stoglin; his aunts and uncles, Jamie Ortiz, Michele Siebert, Efrain Morales, Tanilia Rosario, and Israel Rosario; great aunts and uncles, Jose Ortiz, Luszelenia Gonzalez, Hector Rodriguez, Jr., Debra Storey, Nydia Rodriguez, Annie R. Jones, and Elena Porrata; his New York Family; his cousins, Jaquille Rosario, Syraia Nicole Willrich, Makayla Ortiz, Shayla Ortiz, Gabriela Ortiz, Jaylen Israel, Dominic Morales, and Nicholas Felix Morales, and numerous friends.

A GoFundMe has been established to collect donations in support of Davonte's final expenses and his family's ongoing care. 

A Candlelight Vigil will take place at Travis High School, 1211 East Oltorf Street, in Austin, TX at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 to share fond memories of Devonte and pray for justice for his family.

The Chapel will open at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, with Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas 78702. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
