Obituary of Espetacion Martinez, Jr.

Our beloved Espetacion Martinez, Jr., age 86, resident of Austin, was born into eternal life on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by his sons, Emilio Martinez, Sr., Andrew Martinez, and Mario Martinez; his grandsons Edward and Abraham Martinez; his parents, Espetacion Martinez, Sr. and Guadalupe Alvarez Martinez; his brothers, Doroteo Martinez and Jorge Martinez; and his sisters, Santos Alonzo, Maria Martinez, Refugia Rodriguez, and Lorenza Alvarez. 

Espetacion Martinez is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Elvira D. Martinez; his children, Susie Martinez, Patricia Martinez, and her husband, Tony, Gilbert Martinez, and his wife, Yolanda, and Oscar Martinez, and his wife, Debra; his grandchildren, Jesse Martinez, Jr., Isaac Martinez, Michael Martinez, Jessica Martinez, Emilio Martinez, Jr., Steve Martinez, Crissy Martinez, Rebecca Martinez, Crystal Martinez, Priscilla Martinez, Tony Martinez, Jr., Vincent Guerrero, John Anthony Guerrero, James Guerrero, Andrew Martinez, Jr., Vicky Martinez, Andrea Martinez, Oscar Martinez, Jr., Miguel Martinez, Gabriela Martinez, and Karina Martinez; 43 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Guadalupe Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 20, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning, Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
