Obituary of Yolanda Villanueva Sanchez

Our beloved Yolanda Villanueva Sanchez, age 67, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 18, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Villanueva and Mary Soliz, and her brother, Augustine Diaz.

Yolanda is survived by her loving sons, John Chairez and Adam (Kathleen) Rocha; two grandchildren, Brandy Firkins and Thomas Silvas; two great grandchildren, Eli Lucio and Israel Melendez; her step-father, Domingo Morales; her siblings, John Villanueva, Gabino (Elizabeth) Villanueva, MaryAlice (Anthony) Vig-Ortiz, Diane Martinez Candelas, Lucy Diaz, and Manny (Amy) Diaz, and John (Norma) Herrera Diaz, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  

The family would like to extend its most heartfelt appreciation for the doctors, nurses, and other staff at St. David South Austin Medical Center ICU Center.  When the nurses and staff realized that Yolanda would miss her nephew's wedding, they took the time to create a wedding for her in the ICU Center.  It meant so much to her to see Derek and Kellie so happy about their upcoming wedding.  Yolanda's excellent care continued when she was transferred to Christopher House where the doctors, nurses, and other staff members provided her and our family with such warmth, support and care.  May God bless and keep each and everyone of you and your families.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  An inurnment will take place at a later date at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr., Austin, Texas.
