Obituary of Juan de Dios Rodriguez Maldonado

Our Beloved Juan de Dios Rodriguez Maldonado, age 90, of Jonah, Texas, was called Home on Friday, December 6, 2019 in Austin, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Criselda Sanchez Maldonado; parents, Eustacio and Josefa Maldonado; grandmother Manuelita Maldonado; sister: Carmel “Carmen” Garza, Delfina “Fina” Moreno, Senobia “Sandy” Mojica, Martha “Marty” Acosta; and brother Jacinto “Chinto” Maldonado.

He is survived by his children: Joe Maldonado, Fernando “Freddy” Maldonado, Maria “Janie” (Michael) Felan, Yolanda “Yolie” Maldonado (Donald) Traylor, Paul Maldonado, Maria Amparo Maldonado, and Polly (Edward) Nunez; siblings: Margarita “Maggie” Silva, Lorena Navarette, Hinacia “Nancy” Osuna, Maria “Mary” Barrera, Jose “Joe” Maldonado, and Jesus “Jesse” Maldonado; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren plus 1 on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Mission Funeral Home – South Side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday December 16, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
