Obituary of John Macias

Our beloved, John Macias, age 95, of Austin, Texas was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 29, 2020.  He proudly served his country during World War II in the European Campaign.   

John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Fernando Macias and Josephine Martinez; and sisters, Eloisa Guerra, Eva Salinas, Minnie Coronado and Cecilia Ramirez.

John is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Connie Macias and their five daughters: Gloria and her husband Fred Fuentes, Sylvia Macias, Theresa and her husband Dale Craymer, Cynthia and her husband Nicholas Green, Anna Macias and her husband Vance Cone; his brothers Joe Macias and Fernando Macias; his 6 beloved grandchildren: Frederick Fuentes, Marisa Fuentes and husband Jon Tapia, Damian Green and wife Diandra Green, Kyle Craymer, Jason Craymer and Mary Lillian Craymer; and 2 great-grandchildren; Jonathan Tapia and Jackson Tapia.  John will also be deeply missed by his longtime furry companion, Waffles.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with Celebration of Life to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. Scripture Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery with U.S. Army Honors.

Pallbearers will be Damian Green, Kyle Craymer, Jason Craymer; and sons-in-law Nicholas Green, Vance Cone and Jon Tapia.
