Obituary of Elena Teresa Tello

Our beloved Elena Teresa Tello, age 27, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Arturo Verastegui.

She was a 2016 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology.  She attended McCallum High School in Austin, Texas.  She worked for several years at DPS Austin in the Licensing Administration Department.  Elena was kind and caring and loved her family with every fiber of her being, and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.  

Elena is survived by her mother, Ygnacia "Nancy" Verastegui; her father, Jose Juan Tello Campos; her grandmother, Hortencia Verastegui; her siblings, Angelica Tello, Carlos Tello, and Lupita Tello; her treasured niece Liliana "Lily" Tello; her precious furbabies, Coco and Sonny; numerous aunts, uncles, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Carlos Tello, Henry Gonzalez, Nathan Surita, Julian Jaramillo, Ray Verastigui, Jr., and Eric Verastigui.

The family has created a gofundme page to help with funeral and burial expenses.  In advance, the family is so very grateful for all the love and support they have received. 

The funeral home will open to the public at 6:30 and Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  

The church will open to the public at 11:30 and Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave., Austin, Texas.  Please remember attendance is limited at the church also.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Coronavirus Restrictions from the City of Austin

Saturday, March 14, 2020 Mayor Steve Adler issued an order prohibiting events and other community gatherings of more than 250 people. People who are at the highest risk from the disease, such as elderly people and people with pre-existing conditions, are urged not to attend or avoid gatherings with 10 people or more.  While attending public gatherings, it is important to maintain a distance from others.  

The Tello Family greatly appreciates all of your love and support during this time. If you are not in attendance, they will understand.  While in attendance, the family does request everyone to stay safe - follow the CDC guidelines.  Please visit www.missionmemorials to leave condolences and order flowers as a symbolic gesture in your absence.
