Our beloved Jesse Escalante, age 75, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary R. Escalante; his grandson, Richard Escalante; his parents, Refugia Nerio and Manuel Escalante and his siblings, Modesta Gauna, Pete Escalante, Lupe Escalante, and Dario Escalante.

Jesse is survived by his children, Jesse Escalante, Jr., Frankie Anthony Escalante, Monica Escalante, and Nicholas Escalante and his wife, Sandra; his grandchildren, Amanda Escalante, Sarah Garza, Cassandra Escalante, Carissa Escalante, Alex Gault, Ashley Gault, and Nicholas Escalante II; his siblings, Gloria Barrientes and Manuela Afaro, and many other loving family members and friends.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Funeral home services will end at 11:30.  Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

Chapel is limited to 30 people. Masks are also required at the funeral home.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
