Obituary of Juan Diego "John" Ruedas

Our beloved John Ruedas, age 60, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 4, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Ruedas; his brothers, Antonio Ruedas and Christopher Ruedas, and is brother-in-law, Pedro Lasoya.

John is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Paula Ruedas; his mother, Adelphia Ruedas; his children, Mark Cruz, Juan Diego Ruedas, Jr. and his partner, Julie Johnson, Stacy Ruedas and her husband, Aaron Cutrer, Sr., and Adelphia Ruedas and her partner, Armando Guevara; his siblings, Yolanda Lasoya, Martin Botello and his wife, Elena, Rudy Ruedas and his wife, Rosie Robledo, and Millie Muniz and her husband, David; his beautiful grandchildren, Destiny Cruz, Jaydin Cruz, Jayden Martinez, Julieanna Ruedas, Sophia Rodriguez, Lorianna Cutrer, Natalie Cutrer, Aaron Cutrer, Jr., Mary Jane Cutrer, and Kane Cutrer, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Tracy and Domingo of Altus Hospice for their dedication to John and their support to the family; the staff at Dell Seton at UT, Satelite Dialysis, and Chuck of Community Care where staff showed compassion to John and to our family.  In addition, our sincerest appreciation goes out to John's sister-in-laws and nieces who were so helpful in offering support to us at the home.  May God bless and keep each of you.  Thank you.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. 

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Ave., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Rosary will be live-streamed to allow participcation by those who can not be present.  Mission - South Side Facebook Live.  We advise those who want to participate by watching live-stream to log on prior to the services to insure you know how to log on when services begin.  There is no additional staff on duty at the time of the service to help with logging on and getting connected.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.
