Obituary of David Rene Carrillo

Our beloved David Rene Carrillo, Sr., age 60, was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 2, 2020. He was a veteran with the U.S. Army National Guard for several years. He was employed by the City of Austin, Travis County, and Texas State agencies. 

He is preceded by his parents, Narciso Carrillo and Lenora Gutierrez; brother Henry M. Carrilo; sister, Patricia Prado, and grandsons, Angel R., David R. III, and John D. Carrillo. 

Survived by his wife, Catherine M. Carrillo of 43 years; daughter, Jessica R. Carrillo, and son,  David R. Carrillo, Jr.; sisters, Adrian Ruiz, Mary Dolores Ruiz, and Rachel Castillo; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Liturgy, at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ray T. Macias, Manuel Galvan, Erick Limon, Sr., Derrick Maldonado, Hector Soliz, and Johnny Ruiz, Jr.. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Limon, Ricky Gutierrez, Ronnie Gutierrez, and Johnny Ruiz, Sr.

The Carrillo and Limon family would like to thank family and friends who help with donations for the funeral services.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

Visitation is limited in capacity.

The funeral home chapel has restricted occupancy to 50% of its maximum; about 60 persons. 

Please remember to exercise social distancing as often as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you. 

Each person entering the funeral home is required to have a mask

and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
