Obituary of Catarino E. Arellano

Our beloved Catarino "Cat" E. Arellano, age 89, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, July 16, 2020, just hours shy of his 90th birthday. Catarino is reunited with his first wife, Carmen Dominguez Arellano; his second wife, Manuela Galvan Arellano; his parents, Tomas and Isabel Escamilla Arellano; and his siblings, Celestino, Angela, and Cristina Arellano

Catarino is survived by his loving children, Janie Castillo, and her husband, Gilbert, Tomas Arellano, Graciela Gutierrez, and her husband, Derald, Irene Saldivar, and her husband, Isidro, and Jesus Arellano; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Lenor Cruz Escamilla; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Catarino's family would like to send a special thank you to Reyes Pacheco for her love and support. They are eternally grateful for the kindness and compassion that you gave to their beloved Catarino "TaTa" Arellano. 

Visitation will be on Monday, July 27, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

A Funeral Liturgy will take place the following morning, Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side. 

Interment will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

Visitation is limited in capacity.

The funeral home chapel has restricted occupancy to 50% of its maximum; about 60 persons. 

Please remember to exercise social distancing as often as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you. 

Each person entering the funeral home is required to have a mask

and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
