Obituary of Aramis "Ben" Mora

Please share a memory of Aramis "Ben" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved Aramis (Ben) Mora age 82, was called by our heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, surrounded by his daughters and nurse at St. David’s South Austin Hospital.

Born in Brownsville, Texas, Ben proudly served his country, serving two tours in Vietnam, and retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service, which led him to another career of 33 years with the IRS. He was well known at La Perla Bar where he loved singing “Las Mañanitas” to all who celebrated birthdays. His style of guayaberas, his Stacey Adams, and “bebop” hats were his trait; he was always looking sharp. He greeted everyone with a nod and a firm welcoming handshake. He was the life of the party, always playing his guitar and would always refer to himself as “the oldest living teenager”. Ben was a true family man and a cool friend to everyone. He gave it his all…until the end. Heaven gained a humorous and musical angel.

Ben was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Minerva V. Mora; son, Michael Mora; father, Jose Julio Mora and mother, Maria de la Cruz Lambert Mora.
