Obituary of Rita Moreno Ibarra

Our beloved Rita Moreno Ibarra, age 82, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dionicio Ibarra, Sr.; parents, Dionicio and Herminia Moreno and her brother, Guadalupe Moreno.

Rita is survived by her loving children, Gilbert Moreno and his wife, Leticia, Veronica Vasquez and her husband, Braulio, Dionicio Ibarra, Jr. and Sonia Rangel, Cipriano Ibarra, and Daniel Ibarra; her brother, Eleno Moreno; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Feeder Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
