Obituary of Alfredo A Lopez

Our beloved Alfredo A. Lopez, age 76, passed peacefully into the arms or our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 9, 2020; following respiratory complications due to Covid-19.

Alfred was born October 17, 1944 in Austin, Texas to Domingo Lopez and Manuela Acosta. He attended Metz Elementary, Allen Junior High, and Johnston Highs School in Austin’s Independent School District. He later went on to retire from AISD on August 19, 1992, after twenty years of employment.

Alfred loved playing dominoes, watching wrestling, and driving around in his pickup when he got the chance. He will always be remembered for his favorite greeting to friends and family… “Hey you old goat!”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Manuela Lopez; and nephew Tim, Navarro.

Alfredo is survived by his brothers, Raul, George and Ernest Lopez; sisters, Connie (Carlos) Navarro, and Olivia Castillo and partner Frank Loera, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family of Alfredo Lopez would like to express our sincere thanks for the expressions of love during our time of bereavement. We would also like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Pete Garcia, nurses and staff at St. David’s Medical Center South and Hospice.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St., Austin, Texas 78745.

Inurnment services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas, Tuesday, January 26th.
