Obituary of Corey Jewett

Our beloved Corey LaRue Jewett, age 42, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. 

He was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Woodson Shannon; his great-great grandparents, Alex and Patsy Shannon; his great great grandmother, Ruth Taylor; his great grandparents, Hally Davis, Jack, and Beatrice Owens, Pete Jackson, and Ethel Grady; his grandfathers, William Lawrence Davis, Eugene Jewett, and Luis Garcia; his brother, Germeyal Akua Jewett. 

Corey is survived by his grandmothers, Yvonne Davis and Fay Jewett; his parents, Brett LaRue Jewett and Darlene Davis Carlisle; his fiancée, April Clark; his sisters, Tiffany, Breanna, Kelsey, Kierra, Terna, Tiena, and LaRiya; his brothers, Galentaul, Elijah Lee; his children, TyBrisha, KyNeisha, Aniya, Corey Jr.; his step-children, Jada and Jayveon; his 2 grandchildren, Zaniyah and Zavion, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service to begin at 1:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home -East, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez Austin, Texas 78702.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
