Obituary of Bacilia G. Mendoza

Our beloved Bacilia G. Mendoza, age 100, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 31, 2020.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family.  Mrs. Mendoza was preceded in death by her husband Juan Mendoza; her infant son, Juan Mendoza, Jr. and son, John Albert Mendoza; her parents, Emeterio and Delfina Guzman; her sister, Cruz Montoya; her brothers, Heriberto Guzman, Domingo Guzman, and Severiano Guzman, and her daughter-in-law, Margarita Mendoza.

Bacilia is survived by her loving children, Arturo Mendoza, Robert Mendoza and his wife, Virginia, Edward Mendoza and his wife, Guadalupe, Mary Quintero and her husband, Ricard, Refugia Sanchez and her husband, David, Alicia Castillo and her husband, Rudolph; David Mendoza, Rachel Mendoza, and special niece, Elisa Maciel; 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Lydia and 9th Street, Austin, Texas.  Church sanctuary will open at 6:00 p.m.  Social distancing and face covering are required at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will begina t 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Social distancing and face covering are required at the church.  The cemetery has reduced capacity of 30 for burial rites.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
