Obituary of Mary Jane Chavez

Our beloved Mary Jane Chavez, age 58, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Salazar and Juanita Vera; her brothers, Joe, Manuel, and Robert; her nieces, Priscilla, and Christina; her cousin Carmen Rodriguez; and by her best friend, Maria Solis.

Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Rolando Chavez; her daughters, Sarah Mendoza and her husband, Noel, and  Elaine Ramos and her partner, Roy Mendoza; her sons, Gilbert Ramos Jr. and his wife Shelia, and Rolando Chavez Jr. and his wife, Yessenia; 20 loving grandchildren, 4 precious great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Mary Jane’s immediate family only to attend, Saturday, February 6, at 1:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 78745.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
