Obituary of Cecilia Lopez Morris

Cecilia Lopez Morris (1938-2021)

Our beloved Cecilia Lopez Morris, age 83, resident of Austin, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan A. and Margarita Lopez; daughter, Herlinda Ledesma; siblings, Thomas Lopez Sr., David Lopez, Mary Alice Lopez Cantu, and Carlotta “Cindy” Lopez Marley; brother-in-law, John Cantu; and by her sister-in-law, Mary Lopez of South Carolina.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Morris; children, Adolph Ledesma and Diana L. Cortinas (Edward); brother, Roberto “Bob” Lopez of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Mary Garcia Lopez; grandchildren, Jennifer Ledesma and Daniel Ledesma of Dallas, TX, Christopher Cortinas (Elizabeth), Tanya Cortinas, Jason Cortinas, Amanda Alvarez-Zavala (Richard), Cecilia “Rani” Ledesma, Adrian Nuncio, and David Ledesma; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2021, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 78745. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021, also at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
