Obituary of Irene Murillo

Our beloved Irene Murillo, age 70, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.  She has reunited with her beloved husband, Miguel "Mike" Murillo who passed away in December of 2020.  She was also preceded in death by her father, Manuel Benavides; her precious grandson, Michael Murillo III and her brother, Israel Benavides.

Irene is survived by her children, Mike Murillo, Jr. and Misty Preece, Victor Murillo and his wife, Christina Marie Murillo, and Rebecca Ann Whiting and her husband, Mark; her grandchildren, Krystal Daniell Gonzales and her husband, Rene; Amanda Mendez, Ryan Anthony Murillo, Matthew Joseph Murillo, John Michael Murillo, Alex Jacob Murillo, Hayden Paige Murillo, Anthony Whiting, Bradley Whiting, Falyn Hunt, and Kendall Hunt; great grandchild, Penelope Rae Gonzales; her brothers, Richard Benavides and his wife, Betty, Manuel Benavides, Jr., Joe Anthony Benavides and his wife, Martha, Jesse Benavides and his wife, Rachel, and Gerald Benavides; her sisters, Janie Ruiz and her husband, Robert, Rosalinda Matamoros and her partner, Harry Leonard, Yolanda Benavides, Carmen Waznik and husband, AJ, and Rita Korinko and her husband, Jim, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

A Scripture Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021 also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
