Obituary of Melvin Eric Duran Rivera

Nuestro amado Melvin Eric Duran Rivera, de 68 años de edad, residente de Austin, originalmente de El Salvador, nació a la Vida Eterna el jueves, 29 de abríl, 2021. Era un hijo cariñoso y un padre amoroso al que extrañaremos profundamente. Se reune con su padre José Tomás Duran. 

A Melvin le sobrevive sus trés hijos, Melvin Douglas Duran, y su pareja, Angie Duran, Eric Alexander Duran, y su pareja, Christina Suniga, Melvin Alexander Duran, y su pareja, Maria Garcia; sus 15 nietos, Vanessa Duran, y su pareja, J.P. Barrientos, Angelica Duran, y su pareja, Edgar Lopez, Gabriel Duran, Patricia Duran, y su pareja, Noah Castillo, Daniel Duran, Destiny Duran, Alyssa Diaz, Xavier Diaz, Kaitlyn Diaz, Alex Cuellar, y su pareja, Jennifer, Melvin Alexander Duran, Jr., y su pareja, Natalie, Maria Isabel Duran, Giovani Duran, y su pareja, Diana, Melvin Duran III, Juan Duran; sus nueve bisnietos, Aniyah Nova Lane, Alani Arocha, Izaiah Lopez, Sophia Lopez, Jeremiah Barrientos, Aydenn René Cuellar, Melanie Rae Duran, Layla Rose Duran, Giovani Alexander Duran-Bonilla; su madre, Fidelina Rivera; sus hermanas, Elsie Duran, Sonia Duran, Marlene Duran; su hermano, Jesus Martinez; numerosos sobrinos, otros familiares, y amigos. 

El velorio se realizará el jueves, 6 de mayo, 2021, de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con la Recitación del Santo Rosario empesando a las 7:00 p.m., en Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

La Liturgia Funebre se realizará la siguiente mañana, viernes, 7 de mayo, 2021, a partir de las 11:00 a.m., tambien en Mission Funeral Home - East Side. 

El entierro seguirá en Assumption Cemetery. 

Debido a las restricciones de Coronavirus / COVID-19 de la ciudad de Austin,

los niveles de capacidad están restringidos en funerarias, iglesias y cementerios.

Cada persona que ingrese a la funeraria, la iglesia y el cementerio deberá usar una máscara.

y practicar el distanciamiento social de 6 pies o más. Si está enfermo o le preocupa el virus,

se recomienda que no asista a los servicios.

La familia está muy agradecida con todos por su comprensión, amor y apoyo.

Our beloved Melvin Eric Duran Rivera, age 68, resident of Austin, originally from El Salvador, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was a caring son and a loving father who will be missed dearly. He is reunited with his father, José Tomás Duran. 

He is survived by his three sons, Melvin Douglas Duran, and his spouse, Angie Duran, Eric Alexander Duran, and his partner, Christina Suniga, Melvin Alexander Duran, and his partner, Maria Garcia; his 15 grandchildren, Vanessa Duran, and her partner, J.P. Barrientos, Angelica Duran, and her partner, Edgar Lopez, Gabriel Duran, Patricia Duran, and her partner, Noah Castillo, Daniel Duran, Destiny Duran, Alyssa Diaz, Xavier Diaz, Kaitlyn Diaz, Alex Cuellar, and his partner, Jennifer, Melvin Alexander Duran, Jr., and his partner, Natalie, Maria Isabel Duran, Giovani Duran, and his partner, Diana, Melvin Duran III, Juan Duran; his nine great-grandchildren, Aniyah Nova Lane, Alani Arocha, Izaiah Lopez, Sophia Lopez, Jeremiah Barrientos, Aydenn René Cuellar, Melanie Rae Duran, Layla Rose Duran, Giovani Alexander Duran-Bonilla; his mother, Fidelina Rivera; his sisters, Elsie Duran, Sonia Duran, Marlene Duran; and his brother, Jesus Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

The Funeral Liturgy will be held the following morning, Friday, May 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side. 

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
