Obituary of Juan Salas

Our beloved, Juan Salas Jr., was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, August 23, 2021.  Born in Laredo, veteran of the Air Force and retiree of the City of Austin. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Salas Sr., and Beatriz Salas Martinez, and by his brothers, Jose Salas (Ruth), Gilbert Salas (Emma), and Daniel Salas.

Juan is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years, Reba Salas; children, Johnny Salas, Miroslava Salas, Miranda Salas and Armando Salas (Crystal Lewis); grandchildren, Julian Valles, Anthony Valles, Alejandro Valles, Lilliana Salas, and Luis Salas, and by his siblings, Ernesto Salas (Deanna), Ruben Salas (Martha), Ricardo Salas(Nora), Arturo Salas (Pat), Rolando Salas (Teresa), and Rosalinda Castaneda Joe); and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 South 1st St., Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, TX 78704, on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery.

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to
