Obituary of Amalia Garcia

Our beloved mother Amalia Garcia, age 75, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 10, 2021. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Oscar Cervantes Garcia; her parents, Heriberto Cruz Flores and Florinda Garcia; her son, Edward Garcia, and her granddaughter, Jami Christina Woodhouse Sanchez. 

She leaves behind her children, Maria Sanchez (Jose), Jose Oscar Garcia, Lila Garcia (Edward), and Christopher Rene Garcia; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends. 

We appreciate her unwavering strong support and warm unconditional love. We love her so much and we will miss her immensely. 

Pallbearers will be Jose Sanchez, Edward Garcia, Jose Oscar Garcia, Christopher Rene Garcia, Elijah Issac Dominguez, and John Anthony Saldana. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jose Valentin Sanchez and Alessandra Elena Sanchez. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity, 6204 South 1st Street, Austin, Texas, 78745. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Drive, Austin, Texas, 78741.

Interment to follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
