Obituary of Joann Medina

Our beloved Joann Requejo Medina, age 62, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Joann is reunited with her father, Joe Zapata Requejo; and her sister, Nancy Requejo. 

Joann is survived by her children, Joseph Requejo, and his girlfriend, Sherri Roldan, Daniel Medina, and his spouse, Letty, Michael Medina, and his spouse, Jacquelin; her nieces and nephews that she devotedly raised as her own children, Delia Castro, Dolores Foster, David Castro, Deserah Telles; her precious grandchildren, Kristal L. Requejo, Daniella S. Medina, Layla Isabella Medina, Roman Medina, Aaron Medina; her treasured great-granddaughter, Brielle Lynn; her mother, Isabel Silva Requejo; her brother, Joe Requejo, Jr.; many other nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.

Funeral Mass will take place the following morning, Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East Second Street, Austin, Texas. 

This will conclude services for Joann. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
