Obituary of Vivian Martinez

Please share a memory of Vivian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved Vivian Aguirre Martinez, age 79 of Austin, was called by Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021. Mrs. Martinez is proceeded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Martinez, daughter, Michelle Martinez, parents, Felix and Mariana Aguirre, sisters, Janie Aguirre and Connie Aguirre and brothers, Antonio Aguirre, Macario Aguirre and Felix Aguirre Jr.

She was survived by her children Mary Martinez, Lawrence Martinez and Felix Martinez, 2 sisters Tomasa Vela and Debbie Martinez, one brother Frank Aguirre, and an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vivian was a devout Catholic with significant contributions to the faith by being intensely active in the church including, but not limited to, her membership of Beginning Experience, Sisters of the Holy Cross and the Children's Catholic Youth Organization. Additionally, she was a constant light through example and would connect with Our Lord and Savior by praying The Rosary daily.

Vivian, also known as Granny, was always committed to family first (after God). She, alongside her husband, showed her unwavering dedication to her family through countless jobs and many restless hours. Her faithfulness to her husband and love for her family continued to grow through multiple generations. Her light continues to shine bright through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she proudly called her babies.

Vivian's hobbies included crossword puzzles, music and dance, novelas, reading and cooking. She also had an immense love for plants and animals (especially birds and cows) that was inspired by two of her favorite saints, Saint Therese of Lisieux and Saint Francis of Assisi. Because of this love for nature she loved to travel, both personally and spiritually. She loved to take mission trips and vacations with her family and friends and would always point out her cows. Her immense collection of cows coined her "The Cow Lady."

Vivian would have liked everyone to “go in peace to love and serve the Lord.”
