Obituary of Carrie Romero

Our beloved Carrie Romero, age 75, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 24, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony C. Romero; daughter, Linda Gay Romero; mother, Rebecca L. Barron; father, Marcus Z. Barron Jr.; brother, Robert L. Barron; and by her brother-in-law, Jesse M. Rosales.

She is survived by her sister, Annie R. Rosales; brother, Marcus Barron III and his wife Liz Barron; her two adopted sons, Carlos Landivar and family, and, Patrick Kwan and family; along with numerous nieces, family and friends.

Carrie attended Johnston High School in Austin, Texas through the 11th Grade & obtained her Cosmetology Certificate. She and her husband, Tony Romero, were owners of Tony’s Grocery Store on Santa Rita St. Austin, TX for 35 years.  Carrie gave many years working as a cashier at St. Davids Medical Center Cafeteria in Austin, Texas where she retired.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022, with Prayer Services beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S First St., Austin, Texas. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. 

The family of Carrie Romero requests that all in attendance wear face covering and practice safe social distancing practices.  They are grateful for your understanding.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
