Obituary of Sergio Velasco

Our beloved Sergio Velasco, age 60, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 6, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Humberto and Isabel Velasco.

Sergio was a native of El Paso, a UTEP graduate, and completed 2 years at the University of Texas. Sergio was employed at State of Texas Library and archive commissions for 30 years. He was an avid Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Sergio is survived by his brothers, Luis Velasco (Elma) and Manny Velasco and his sisters, Alma Leticia Lujan (Arturo) and Sylvia Villalva, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:30 a.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  

Mass of Christian Burial will follow Rosary at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave., Austin, Texas.  Inurnment will take place at a later date where Sergio will be laid to rest with his mother, Isabel.
