Obituary of Marisol Peña

Our beloved Marisol Peña, age 52, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 after a hard fought battle.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilmer Peña.

Marisol is survived by her sons, Matthew Saenz (Claudia Reyes), Bryan Saenz, Erick Saenz, and Alexander Saenz; her mother, Reyna Mendoza; her siblings, Winston Peña (Marisol), Wilson Peña (Estelita), Edwin Mendoza (Korina), Wendy Peña, and Tatiana Romero and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  This will conclude the public services for Marisol.  She will return to her family home of Honduras for services at a later date.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.


Nuestra amada Marisol Peña, de 52 años, fue llamada a nuestro Padre Celestial el miércoles 13 de abril de 2022 después de una dura batalla. Falleció en paz rodeada del amor de su familia. Le precedieron en la muerte su hermano, Wilmer Peña.

 A Marisol le sobreviven sus hijos, Matthew Saenz (Claudia Reyes), Bryan Saenz, Erick Saenz y Alexander Saenz; su madre, Reyna Mendoza; sus hermanos, Winston Peña (Marisol), Wilson Peña (Estelita), Edwin Mendoza (Korina), Wendy Peña y Tatiana Romero y numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, otros queridos familiares y amigos.

 El velorio se llevará a cabo de 4:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. con rezo del Santo Rosario a partir de las 19:00 horas. el viernes 22 de abril de 2022 en Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Así concluirán los servicios públicos de Marisol. Ella regresará a la casa de su familia en Honduras para recibir servicios en una fecha posterior.
