Obituary of Ventura Briceno, Jr.

Our beloved Ventura Briceño, age 88, resident of Austin and Lockhart was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 12, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ventura & Maria Briceño, Sr. and his beloved wife Apolonia Torres Briceño; sisters Anastacia Prieto, Mikaela Arriaga and Eduarda Saucedo; brothers Jose Briceño and Guadalupe Briceño; son-in-laws Alfred Peralez, Jr., Art Cárdenas and grandson Arthur Alberto Jesus Cárdenas. 

Ventura is survived by his children Esperanza (†Alfred) Briceño, Carlos (Rosemary) Briceño, Raul (Rachel) Briceño, Rafael (Sharon) Briceño, Connie Cárdenas (†Art), Mario (Mayra) Briceño, Lucy (Raymond) Castro, Sally (Chato) Armonta, Benjamin (Florence) Briceño, Isabel (Albert) Hidrogo, and Raquel (Richard) Hidrogo; 31 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Feliciano (Ruth) Briceño, Augustine (Maria) Briceño, Gregorio (Nieves) Briceño, Magarito (Rosa) Briceño and numerous nieces, nephews, loving family and friends and our Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church community.

Visitation Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th St., Austin Texas 78702.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 205 W Pecan St, Lockhart, TX 78644. 

Interment Committal Services will follow at Clark Chapel Cemetery, on Old McMahan Rd., Lockhart Texas.  

Pallbearers will be Elias Armonta, Sergio Briceño, Paul Cárdenas, Raymond Castro, Albert Michael Hidrogo, Nicholas Hidrogo, Isaac Hidrogo, and Chris Peralez.

Honorary Pallbearers; Thomas Armonta, Rafael E. Briceño, Joshua Cárdenas, John Anthony Casas, Brandon Corpus,           Isaiah Hidrogo, Richard J. Hidrogo, Alfredo Peralez, III, Johnny Casas, Eric Cumley, and Hector Ortiz.
