Obituary of Maria Luz Rico Jaimes

Our beloved Maria Luz Rico Jaimes, age 84, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Friday, February 3, 2023. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Francisco Jaimes Maya; her father, Nicanor Rico Campos; and her sister, Sara Rico. 

Maria is survived by her loving children, Gregorio Jaimes, and his wife, Nancy Guzman, Pastor Jaimes, and his wife, Lucy, Orfanel Jaimes and his wife, Mari, Sergio Jaimes, and his wife, Gabriela; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her sister, Angela Rico; her brother Roberto Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615  East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on the following morning, Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side. 

Committal will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
