Obituary of Arnold Cantu
Our Beloved Arnold Cantu, age 71 of Austin, was called by Our Heavenly Father into Eternal
Rest on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, surrounded by His Loving Family.
For many years Arnold was an Employee with the Villasenor Family Funeral Directors - Mission
Funeral Home, on East Cesar Chavez, as a Maintenance Custodial attendant.
Nune loved scary movies, but his favorite movies were The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and
He loved hamburgers, French fries, Coca-Cola, papas, egg tacos and Double Mint gum.
He may have been born with many disadvantages, but he overcame every adversity. He never
met a stranger, and he never forgot a face. You may have aged, but he knew who you were.
You could always count on him to have a smile, big hugs, and most of all “chicle”. The first
Spanish word we all learned and still know today.
Arnold is preceded in death by Parents; Julian, Sr., and Eva (Cordova) Cantu, Siblings,
Evangelina Cantu, Miguel "Mike" Cantu, Julian Cantu Jr., Virginia Medina, Arturo Cantu,
Alfred Cantu, and Adam Cantu.
Mr. Cantu is survived by 3 Sisters; Lenor Ruiz, Lena Ybarra, and Emaline Gil and Husband
Reynaldo, one sister-in-law; Rose Cantu, one Brother; Arthur “Tutti” Cantu, and a host of
Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
